I am doing a monthly Metal podcast for The Unicorn in Camden now. Check it out guys, share it all about so hopefully upcoming gig news will get shared all over.
1st up this week we have a Stoner band from Sussex, New Bruswick, Canada. Gallactus formed in 2000 and had a trio of releases during their time, a demo and 2 full length albums.
Nine Mile Woods - 2008
Empire of the Eye - 2004
Both albums are name your price on their Bandcamp HERE
Greybeard are a progressive/melodic Death Metal band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Metal Archives has no formation date but they've had 3 EP releases, 1 in 2016 and 2 in 2017...
and all 3 of these EPs are up on their Bandcamp, name your price, for you to go pick up HERE
Lastly this week from Spokane, Washington USA we have melodic Death Metal from Abode for the Dead. Formed in 2010, they have 2 releases so far, a full-length and an EP both from last year.
Kicking off the show today we have Stoner/Doom band Carcinogen Daily from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. There are no details of when they formed on their page but I guess it was fairly recent as their debut self-titled EP release just came out in April.
Next up we've got solo artist Benn Bilinski from Detroit, Michigan, USA. He plays Technical Groove/Thrash Metal starting the project in 2009. He's recorded a full length album and 2 EPs .....
Lastly for this week we have this Doom/Sludge outfit from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Cygnus got together a couple of times over the years from 2009-2011 and also from 2014-2015. They only had the one release in this time though, a demo called "Heresy of the Stargazer" from 2011
On this week's look at Dem Old Tapes in my collection I am showing you a demo by melodic Doom/Death band Chorus of Ruin from Bradford, England. These guys formed in 1991 and split in 2009 according to Metal Archives although this demo from 1994 is the last release on the record.
I saw these guys at least twice back in the day, I am sure they played an all-dayer at the Dome in Tufnell Park and also an all-dayer up in Nottingham Rock City too which was a great day out.
In their time they had 3 demos, a single, a split with Sororicide and a live album. They also had the track "Headstones" on the Deaf Metal Sampler

Chorus of Ruin kindly sent me the fliers of the 2 gigs I remember seeing them playing at. Both fucking classic gigs, I wish I'd been filming gig footage back in them days but my camera was so shot back then it probably would have come out total rubbish.
That's it for this week, I will play a track off of this on the show Sunday, check out last week's podcast HERE

Big thanks to Kuona for the CD and T-Shirt they sent me this week too, go check these mad guys out
Here we go with another great trio of bands offering Free and Name Your Price downloads on their Bandcamp pages.
1st off from Buenos Aires, Argentina we have Heavy Metal band Devilsnite, I can't see a start date for when these guys began but they have one release out so far, an EP from 2013, "Coming Home to Hell"
Next up from Jyväskylä, Finland we have My Funeral a Death/Thrash Metal who formed in 2005. They have 3 demos, 3 full-length albums and 2 EPs to their names and a bunch of them are free/nyp on their Bandcamp.
Lastly this week from Split, Dalmatia, Croatia we have Progressive Thrash Metal band Essence. They got together in 1996 but I'm not too sure if they are still active, they only have a MySpace page, which is normally an indication that a band are inactive. They have 3 demos and an album from 2012....
