We start off this week with some Thrash/Death/Metalcore from Geneva Switzerland in the form of Hellbrain. They formed in 2009 and have released a self-titled EP (2011) and an album "What We Left" (2015).

Next from Moscow, Russia we have D.I.Y Hardcore/Punk/Thrash band Antreib. They've been around since 2009 and have 4 releases up on their Bandcamp page for you to check out.

This duo from Fresno, California, USA got together in 2008, one of them loves Deathcore, the other Grindcore and they both love Mathcore and this is the result of those influences. They also have done some collaborations with friends.

Bastardhammer music video

These London based Crust Punk/Death Metal maniacs have hit on a cool or perhaps slightly deranged idea to make a music video for a new song using art provided by their fans. I jumped on it like a shot, not because I have any artistic talent though, I just thought it would be a laugh. I emailed them straight away and then shared their post all over my pages so they'd get all the applicants that they needed.

My application was accepted, here is the message I received! 

So, I sharpened my pencil, got out my lucky gonk and planned my artistic masterpiece!! Check out the video below to see my magnificent picture take shape!

Dem Old Tapes - Show 5 - Unsilence

On Dem Old Tapes this week we have a demo that I have fond memories of from a really cool band that I am glad to say are still active. 

Unsilence formed in 1993 and were originally from Bolton but have since spread out with members all based in the North West of England. They started out as Doom/Death before adopting a more melodic Doom style quite quickly after forming. Main man Kieron Tuohey says that he has mixed feelings over this 1st demo as he feels they rushed to record it rather than spending time developing their own sound. It was released in September 1994 and I think it's a pretty solid sounding demo that wasn't out of place amongst the wealth of bands in the UK scene that were playing in a similar vein at that time.

The band have so far got 3 demos, 2 EPs, and 2 full length albums, (3 if you count 1997's unreleased "Choirs of Memory"), under their belts and they are all damned cool slabs of Doomy goodness. The 1st 2 demos are Name Your Price on their Bandcamp page HERE and you can buy digital downloads of all their other stuff from the same link also.
